Who We Are
Shalom Institute is a premier center for experiential Jewish education and Jewish overnight camping serving more than 25,000 people year-round. Our diverse programs range from residential summer camps to community wide Jewish celebrations. Our most well known program Camp JCA Shalom is a residential camp for youth. As a an experiential Jewish education center serving all denominations and walks of Jewish (and non-Jewish) life, we also offer full-service retreats and educational programs to schools, synagogues, and community organizations. Our services include religious school retreats, family camps, holiday educational celebrations, leadership trainings, adult programs, family fun days, service projects, and social justice programs. We are nationally known for our programmatic excellence, community partnerships and for being a “green” leader in eco-friendly practices and sustainability.
Nestled on 220 acres in the mountains of Malibu, 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean and only 45 minutes from Los Angeles, we have expansive facilities that include:
