Shemesh Enterprises is a social enterprise that empowers and develops independence for young adults with different abilities through employment, internships, and social connections. Our “Farm Fellows” work in Shalom Institute’s Shemesh Organic Farm and Garden, bake in the Shemesh Bakery, work in our social media and marketing department, and participate in health and wellness activities at Shalom Institute, including hiking, meditation, basketball, social skill building, and yoga. Our products, produce and baked goods are sold by the Farm Fellows at Los Angeles area Farmers’ Markets, at community organizations, and at Shalom Institute community events. Shemesh Farm Stands are staffed by our Farm Fellows. Farm Stand profits support Shemesh Enterprises and our continued growth.
Shemesh Organic Farm Farm Fellows Initiative and our Farm Stands are benefited by major funding from the Jewish Community Foundation, as well as the generosity from the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance.
