Environmental Education

Shalom Institute strives to minimize our environmental impact, maximize our sustainability, and offer our program participants hands-on opportunities to learn about nature, our environment, and ways to protect it.

Environmental Service Days

The Shalom Institute offers environmental service opportunities to any group or individual B’nei Mitzvah looking to learn and engage meaningfully with nature. We offer environmental service opportunities to assist with the growth of Shemesh Farms, to manage and repair the Marla Bennett Israel Discovery Center, and to assist with the ecological restoration of the Shalom Institute, post Woolsey Fire. These may include seed saving, native planting, invasive species removal, trail restoration, composting and animal center care.
