Lauren Allenberg

Lauren joined the Shalom Institute team in the summer of 2022 as the Director of Camper Care for Camp JCA Shalom. Lauren’s experience in social work is wide ranging from working at a youth residential facility in Northern California to providing outpatient therapy at Jewish Family Services in Dallas, Texas. With nearly two decades of experience caring for children (including her own) and families, Lauren is thrilled to be able to share her mental health experience training staff and counselors, and supporting the social, emotional and spiritual needs of campers at JCA. With strong ties to her Jewish roots, applying her skills as a social worker to a Jewish camp setting is truly a dream come true. Alongside her current role as Mental Health Director for Camp JCA Shalom, Lauren has a private therapy practice that specializes in grief counseling.
