Rabbi Bill Kaplan

Since 1990, Rabbi Bill has been part of the year-round ShaIom Institute staff, but really began his Jewish camping career at Camp JCA in Malibu as a camper in 1976 later at JCA in Barton Flats. Rabbi Bill received his BA from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, his MBA in Nonprofit Management and Jewish Communal Service at the American Jewish University, and his rabbinical ordination from the Academy For Jewish Religion in Los Angeles. In his spare time, Rabbi Bill helps to lead services at Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue and leads educational workshops and programs on what he calls Edible Judaism. Rabbi Bill also currently serves on the JCC Association of North America Board of Directors. He is married to Rachel and has two children, Noah and Rebecca, who grew at Shalom Institute and loved their Camp JCA Shalom and Sherut L’Olam experiences.
